These are the goals promoted by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a series of commitments signed by the 193 member countries of the United Nations to find common solutions to the great challenges of the planet, such as: extreme poverty, climate change, inequality and the right to health. Today, over 3.5 billion people live in cities and the number will continue to grow in the coming years. Cities will therefore have to be rethought to be greener and to adapt to climate change with the help of sustainable solutions and territorial monitoring Smart Cities, or intelligent cities, are an application area of the Internet of Things associated with the concept of the city of the future. This asymmetry has changed the way companies and professionals get in touch, reducing the quality level of the entire process. The huge gap between job offer and demand pushes professionals to increase their expectations in terms of work conditions and life balance (salary, smart working, benefits …). However, this talents research becomes stressful for both companies and workers: Companies must set up a huge recruiting process with high costs and very minimal return on investment. Professionals find themselves going back and forward from company to company quickly, improving their working conditions but, sometimes without a appropriate evaluation of the opportunities. **CHALLENGE** This challenge aims to create the perfect match between companies and professionals based on values, needs and expectations that both have. The starting point is of course the Internet: it is full of information needed to better understand a person's skill or to find the perfect job post. The same social networks we use everyday, forums and other online community platforms can add value to our search. Almawave, “The AI Company of Almaviva Group”, will provide AiWave [http://aiwave.ai/](http://aiwave.ai/), an integrated solution to facilitate the challenge ----- ### **EAV Challenge: Let's give a contribution to MaaS systems!** The Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV) is the most important local public transport company in the Campania Region and works both in the railway and in the road transport sectors. EAV proposes its own challenge considering the need to develop innovative digital solutions that can establish the company as a leader in the smart management of passengers' services, after the crisis experienced due to the pandemic. Naples had first place in a national call for Maas services to be implemented thanks to PNRR funds. EAV achived the winning project together with other transport companies, the Consorzio Unico Campania and the Municipality of Naples. As a consequence, EAV is particularly sensitive to MaaS (Mobility as a Service) systems in this moment. Maas systems aim to enable intermodal travel choices and to add value to travel. The goal is to improve the services offered, the quality and the value perceived by customers, considering that today the improvement of the travel experience must also be interpreted from the point of view of sustainability. Considering the trip as a service means enriching it, combining other services where possible (for example a trip connected to the visit of an archaeological site or a museum), but it also means simplifying its usability (for example by issuing a single ticket for multiple carriers). Another element that guarantees the right of digital citizenship, that is so desired today, is to allow customers to interact with the company that provides the service, through codified and "ad hoc" channels. **CHALLENGE** Maas systems are preparing to provide intermodal travel possibilities through large, centralized information repositories (NAPs). In the near future there will be carriers with small vehicles such as push scooters (“monopattini”) that, on the last stretch of the journey, will interact with the major mobility players (such as Trenitalia or Italo). In this fascinating but less stable reality than the current one, the center of gravity is the passenger with his interests, his need to discover the travel opportunities and to move safely, through an increasingly efficient and rich travel's experience. In this new scenario, the objective of the challenge is to develop innovative solutions, for example dedicated apps (even simple but “smart”) to enrich the journey and to interpret the customer's needs. ----------- ### **VMware Tanzu Challenge - The future of digital accessibility, breaking inclusiveness barriers #tanzuhackathon** How do you make Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts, real and tangible? Every day, articles about new kinds of cyber-crimes, like disclosure of confidential data to fraud, are published. As the world has become more and more connected, the topic has grown from a governmental, military and commercial concern to a day-to-day issue that affects everybody. Critical infrastructures have become attractive targets for cyber terrorism. The same situation applies to space communication systems. Many space operating entities are realizing the growing importance of space information security such as earth observation or planetary exploration. This need, together with the increasing usage of standardization, has led the operating entities to formulate security requirements for many of their missions’ telecommand and telemetry systems. These security measures require the secure distribution of cryptographic material among authorized personnel and entities with varying access control levels. In all Space mission, Confidentiality and Availability are two important criteria to be protected to prevent threats such as spoofing and denial of service. This is the scenario in which Defence Tech, through its subsidiary NEXT, Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio operate and this scenario is the basis for the proposed challenge **CHALLENGE** Space systems are composed of a Ground Segment that allows communication with orbiting satellites and a space segment identified in the satellites. The aim of the challenge is to decipher an encrypted message exchanged between earth and space. The message will be encrypted with ciphers using a set of rules to transform a plaintext message into a ciphertext message. The user will have to decipher as many messages as possible using any idea/tool that can be of support such as writing a procedure, identifying an algorithm, or writing a code that solves the challenge. ------ ### **Acea Challenge: GEO Society [Green Ecological Open Society]** Acea is one of the main Italian multi-utilities, is the leading national operator in water management and one of the main Italian players in the Energy (production, distribution and sales) and Environment (waste treatment and valorisation) sectors. The health of the planet is today one of the most important challenges that we must overcome together to avoid huge problems in the very near future. ACEA's industrial plan envisages 2.1 billion investments in sustainability objectives. Precisely for this reason the challenge we are launching at the Big Hack 2022 relates to sustainability. **CHALLENGE:** Particular reference should be made to the concept of ecological transition declined in the ESGs of Decarbonisation, Sustainability, Biodiversity and Circular Economy, imagining solutions that aim to accompany the digital transition of our cities to achieve the objectives of the 2030 agenda. The extent of the epidemiological emergency COVID-19 has tested the resilience of our health system, underlining shortcomings and delays, but, above all, accelerating the digital and organisational transformation towards a "Model of humanised connected care". Connected Care is a paradigm that expresses the overall care of the patient and is achieved through the sharing of clinical data, information and strategies among all the actors involved in the care process, that are: patients, doctors, nurses, health professionals in the territories and institutional representatives. In fact, an integrated and shared Care Plan is developed, which includes health and social services and which reaffirms the centrality of the person, as the starting and ending point of the entire process. The sharing of data and the connection between the different subjects, enabled by the technologies, must be part of a profound revision of the organisational models, aimed at promoting the integration of care between the hospital and the territory. **Challenge** The objective of the challenge is to find solutions, smartphone or web based, which make the citizen increasingly autonomous and connected with social and health services. In the delicate ecological context of recent years, the entrepreneur feels the urgency to monitor the energy consumption of their plants to limit and prevent waste, both for the environment protection and to optimize investments. Tecno Srl deals, for this reason, with the management of the production and consumption of the systems of the requesting companies .. but what if this type of service were used for the individuals and not for the companies? **Challenge** The challenge is to build a platform that can help monitor the daily activities of the individual to address him towards "green" choices.
